Trough 03:09
Pungent stenches roil. Pulsing waves assault the senses. What do deities eat? Effluvia of god's digestion. Doorways forced open No heed paid to who lives inside. You can't comprehend The ancient tongues demanding your life. No! Don't look into those clustered eyes. No! Don't heed that voice that speaks inside your mind. Breathing foul microbes, . Nucleic acid, Infectious kill. A city of sickness Viscera bent to its will. Pulsing sensation. Sickly sky looks dead and wrong. Plants in fetid soil Another pulse, and then it's gone. Violent visions burning Nauseous whirlpools churning Breaking into that place Where you thought you were safe. Those ancient ruins With stones so black. Greasy shadows reach out. Profane pollution Seeps through the cracks Black Eyes and Crimson Mouths. Grim architecture Impossible angles Spatial and temporal Hell. Screaming into The Void, that also screams into you as well.

This is the day. Seen in the cosmos. All that we did has led us to this moment here. Before there was life, And Nothing existed, The Stars came down and deposited life in the Earth. A Woman was born From cornsilk and dirt The Whirlwinds arrived to transport her down from the sky. Pierced by visions Bright Star and Great Star; A Star fell to Break the Teeth. Spill blood to feed the seeds. Sacrifice them. Morning Star to Evening Star. Pierce the heart. From our enemies, We took you as captive. You've lived comfortably with us so far. To nourish the seeds Stars must be appeased by Your ritually sacrificed heart. It's been five days of Preparations. Purified; Transformation. Cosmic function. Bundles laid (out) According to the Four Directions. Ancestral Medicine Gifted to us. Realign These currents Put in motion. We lead you (To the) scaffolding You are now the Evening Star Pierced by the Morning Blood is flowing Sacred Corn is growing. Blood, dirt, and food bounty Raised from this blood chutney

Running as far as my feet (can) Function. My form is dead meat. Lusting for order and strength, (but) Nothing is served on this plate (of decay) Spectres are voicing my fears (in) language unspoken for years. Razors are flaying my skin Peeling, discarding all, again. No one's at home right now Vacancy of the front seat Abandonment of autonomy Horrified beyond belief Who am I? Am I still me? Substrates and roots; they suffocate Pulling me under, toward decay Overthrown, a coup of pain Regimes fall, and regimes change. Tendrils are threading my flesh Stitching together this mess Fruiting bodies impaling me Spores are bursting, with hosts to seek.

What's this shit? I cannot believe How you have the audacity! Sneering at the irony Of how you preach To me of peace. This path I took to get revenge. Your soldiers killed my parents and friends. The hatred builds and burns inside When I mourn the ones who died. When I was born My eyes foretold That we'd escape From hatred's hold. But hope was Shattered That fucking day. Parents murdered While I escaped. Scraping by; Orphan of war. I won't be afraid Anymore. The oligarchs Will feel my wrath. I split my pain Into six paths. The corpses of The ones I love Fit my spirit just like a glove. Each one kills; Weapons of war. Each one honed To settle the score. I hold control of the King of Hell Life and Death Are mine as well. I feed upon The fear you know As I consume Your fucking soul. The Animal is invoking the beasts The Warrior holds a secret technique The Hungry Ghost devours your endeavors. Divine gravity crushes with pressure. This isn't petty revenge, it's fucking justice to me. Stuck in the cycle of hate, perpetuate the killing. The Incarnation of Devastation. The execution of retribution. This isn't petty revenge, it's fucking justice to me. Stuck in the cycle of hate, perpetuate the killing. Here you stand In front of me We stand apart As enemies. We've both endured The loss and pain. Back and forth. A repugnant game. You make the claim (that) You'll break the wheel. And eat the hate, So we can heal. But this went on For centuries. Blood soaked hands And memories. The pain of loss Brought by death. Hatred seethes and Fuels vengeance. Corpses pile Blood is sprayed. There is no peace. (where) revenge decays.

about

This record saw the departure of Chris Ortiz from our lineup and the addition of Riley Cottrell. Transitioning from mixed electronics to dual guitars was a process that shaped its sound, reflecting a more traditional dynamic between rhythm and lead guitars while allowing them both to experiment further within the tonal range.

This record contains songs that were written both before and after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ever since, the average life expectancy has continued to decrease worldwide. This irony is not lost on us. When we were deciding what to name the record, it was not long after the Uvalde tragedy. "Gun" felt the most appropriate, because while our music cannot be considered a weapon, it defends us from the daily psychic intrusions that drive us apart, deep into a place where you don't need a gun to destroy yourself and those around you.

Our aim is that in spite of all of this horrific death, we may humbly offer new life.
